The SmartSpires Response
SmartSpires is a direct response to this ambition. Deployed at the heart of Luxembourg's Belval Innovation Campus, the project is building a next-generation digital infrastructure powered by edge AI and densified 5G. Belval becomes both a testbed and a living lab where innovation meets real-world application – allowing researchers, public authorities, and industry to co-create smart urban solutions that are scalable, secure, and sustainable.
Practical Applications
With four use cases focused on mobility, crowd analytics, and waste management, SmartSpires demonstrates how cities can harness advanced connectivity to improve quality of life and public services. Central to this effort is the use of 5SKYE's IntelliTowers, which provide fast, low-latency network access to support time-sensitive, high-volume data applications.
Luxembourg's Role
Luxembourg plays a pivotal role in this project – not just as host, but as a committed driver of digital innovation. SmartSpires aligns closely with the country's national strategy for data-driven innovation, smart mobility, and next-generation connectivity.
